21 November 2020 - ESP Annual Meeting - a Zoom event.
Yes, we are going to have an annual meeting. Originally, it was scheduled to be at the Community Club at Ft. Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Center in Annville but with concerns over COVID19, particularly in the fall, we have finally decided to go the route of many scientific organizations and are converting to a Zoom event. This is a first for ESP, so we have our fingers crossed. The meeting date will be the same, 21 November 2020 but will be on a compressed schedule since we no longer have the burden of physically administering everything. It will run 8:30am-2pm and will have talks on pollinator conservation and research, pest management, aquatic ecology and insect biodiversity.
We’ll start with 4 student presentations from 9-11, followed by professional presentations until noon. At that point there will be an hour break for lunch and the Awards Presentations (12-1)
The ESP Young Entomologist’s award as well as the student awards.
We’ll end with a very special presentation on leaf-miner ecology by author, blogger, ecologist Charley Eiseman.
Zoom access will be granted to those that pay the discounted price of $5 per person. Please make your payments online by Credit Card or by your PAYPAL and the register via online via our online Registration (at Google Forms) or mail a check and registration form to: Mike Slater, 4411 New Holland RD, Mohnton, PA 19540. See the Annual Meeting page to register!
Here’s the line-up:
As for 2021, we don’t know what the future will hold in terms of social gatherings BUT, should the US get a handle on COVID19 we will have an in-person meeting at The Community Club, Ft. Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Center, Annville PA.
