Photo of a Leonard's Skipper (Hesperia leonardus) on a Swamp Thistle (Cirsium muticum) by Mike Slater Leonard's skipper has been recorded from 53 of PA's 63 Counties. per D. Wright as of 01/20/2025. There is one brood in late summer and The larval host plants are grasses: including:Switchgrass (Panicum virgatum), Lovegrass (Erogrostis), Poverty oat grass (Danthonia), and bluestem (Schizachyrium).
